Conducted research on growth regulation through cytokinin signaling and nitrate in the hybrid poplar Populus alba x tremula. Served as a tutor in ecology and plant physiology at Jesus College, Cambridge, and supervised lab courses in plant physiology and cell biology across various colleges.

  • 01.04.98–30.03.99: Research Assistant, Fraunhofer Institute of Atmospheric Environmental Research, Garmisch-Partenkirchen (now KIT Karlsruhe). Worked on a project studying the effects of ozone depletion on European forests, focusing on the impact of increased UV-B radiation and soil drought on spruce (Picea abies). Responsible for biochemical analyses and measurements at a field station, and the maintenance of experimental setups in the Karwendel Mountains.
