The paper, recently published in the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AJARE), shows that machinery circles can be an efficient organisational form of cooperation among farms of smaller size, particularly in circumstances, where rural services are only poorly developed.

The organisers of this year’s ICA CCR Europe Conference, originally planned to be held in Athens from July 8-10, announced that in response to the COVID-19 crisis the conference will not be held in a “presencial format”.

Congratulations to Carla Dohmwirth who has successfully defended her PhD thesis titled „Women, collective action and empowerment – An economic approach“. Her research project focused on the analysis of women’s empowerment in collective action in agriculture.

Until end of May 2020, Samuel Ahado is visiting scholar at our institute! Samuel is a Ghanaian by birth and currently a Ph.D. student and member of the Cooperative Research Group at the Faculty of Tropical Agri-Sciences (FTA) of the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU).

The three-year project (November 2019- April 2022), funded by the European Commission, aims to design and develop a European curricula for higher education focusing on cooperative business models in the agriculture sector necessary to educate students for further work as leaders, managers, staff, consultants, or members of co-operative enterprises in the agriculture sector.
