Supporting Association

The Supporting Association is registered in Berlin as “Society for the Promotion of the Institute for Cooperative Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin e.V.”

The activity of the Association is to support the Institute for Cooperative Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin for the purpose of science and research in every respect and to provide it with funds for the fulfilment of its research and tasks in research and teaching in the field of cooperative education. For that purpose, the Association in particular renders financial support for the implementation of research projects, lectures and scientific events.

The organs of the Supporting Association are the Executive Board and the General Assembly. Their members are leading managers from the German cooperative sector who, in addition to their activities in the Association, make important suggestions and contributions to the Institute’s work.

The active support of the BICS by the members of the Supporting Association leads to a close connection between scientific research and cooperative practice. As a result, a large number of projects have been realized with significant benefits for both sides.

Für die Einstufung der Beitragshöhe juristischer Personen der Kategorien B:1. – B:3. ist der Stand zum letzten Bilanzstichtag vor Beitritt maßgeblich. Spätere Anpassungen der Beitragshöhe aufgrund von Veränderungen bei den Bilanzwerten, Umsetzen bzw. bei Wohnungsgenossenschaften der Zahl der Wohnungen sind nur im gegenseitigen Einvernehmen zwischen dem Vorstand der Fördergesellschaft und dem Mitglied möglich.

Der Vorstand darf mit Mitgliedern bzw. Mitgliedschaftsanwärtern von der Beitragsordnung abweichende Mitgliedsbeiträge vereinbaren, sofern dies im begründeten Interesse der Fördergesellschaft liegt.
